Jeff Lowe lives in Greenville, the county seat of Meriwether County. He is a member of LaGrange’s First Presbyterian Church, the LaGrange Optimist Club, and Masonic Lodge No. 28, also in LaGrange. He is an avid tennis player who also hikes and bikes. Jeff’s vocation was Christian ministry, but his avocation is American and British history. He has not only read widely and visited many Civil War battlefields, but he and his first cousin, Sam Hodges, edited and published Letters to Amanda, the Civil War Letters of Marion Hill Fitzpatrick, Army of Northern Virginia, Mercer University Press, 1998. This collection of 101 letters from Sgt. Major M. Hill Fitzpatrick to his wife, Amanda White Fitzpatrick, who was living on their farm in Crawford County, GA. Fully annotated and indexed, Letters to Amanda is an exceptional addition to Civil War “first person” literature. Hill and Amanda Fitzpatrick are Jeff and Sam’s great-great grandparents.

Jeff is a very happy and serious Toy Soldier collector. This past Christmas Season, Jeff presented impressions using his toy soldiers of our epic battles, Yorktown, the Alamo, Chancellorsville, and D-Day. He also exhibited his “Parade Ground” soldiers.

Prior to serving the Riverdale church, Jeff was Associate Pastor at Druid Hills Baptist Church and Pastor at Lake Claire Baptist Church, both in Atlanta.
